Do we ever truly find the time to uncover who we are? In the relentless pace of London life, it is all too easy to lose ourselves amidst the constant motion. Every morning, we rise to the same routine, the same obligations, the same rhythm. The same frantic rush towards the tube station, towards our packed agendas. And there I was, just another face in the crowd, but the truth was, I felt lost. Stuck in the grind of my nine to five office job, I could not help but wonder if there was something more out there for me.
Deep down, I heard that inner voice yearning for something more. More meaning. More fulfilment. More happiness. I felt trapped in a life that did not bring me joy. I began to feel stressed, depressed, and utterly miserable.
The pain grew until it became unbearable. I could not continue living like that. I had no choice but to face my own pain. I had to roll up my sleeves and take care of myself. I had to take responsibility for my own happiness.
Working on the things I had been avoiding for so long became necessary. I could not ignore them any longer. To heal and find myself, I needed to confront the pain I had been hiding from for years. Immersing myself in that pain was not pleasant at all (there is a reason we avoid it!), but it was the most rewarding experience I could go through. It was the only way to rediscover the true Giuliana—the one I had been hiding because I thought she was not enough, the one I feared wouldn’t be accepted as she was.
Through this journey of self-discovery and healing, I found my purpose. What was important to me, and what I wanted to help others with.
