Trusting Yourself Workshop with Julia Hollenbery at Vitruvian Wellness, NW3 2BE

In an increasingly overwhelming, disconnected and chaotic world, what can you rely on? Your inner wisdom is waiting for you to discover and act on it! Learn how to turn your attention inwards, listening deeply to the spontaneous relational guidance of your sensitive body. Find out how to be more in tune with yourself, with other people around you and with the natural world.

 

We will work with the annual seasonal cycle, somatic movement practices, meditations, rituals, reflective writing and personal sharing. We will draw on knowledge from science, spirituality and indigenous understanding. We will bring in ideas from Julia's second book which is currently in development, reflecting on body, soul, stillness, self-love, space, nature, intimacy, conflict and imperfection.

 

You are welcome to drop-in for one or more sessions, and to book the full year course of eight. Join us for a circle every six weeks, around the time of the seasonal solstices and mid-points. Each gathering will be on a Sunday early afternoon, so you can lie in beforehand

Bring yourself, your curiosity, vulnerability and sensitivity. 

Wear loose clothes you can move in.

You may like to bring a water bottle and a notebook.

Yin Yoga & Gong Sound Bath

The perfect way to relax, unwind and reset with an hour of Yin Yoga followed by an hour Sound Bath. In Yin Yoga we take our time to allow the body to slowly drop into each pose, gently stretching and opening up. Followed by a deeply relaxing Gong Bath to further calm the body and mind by slowing down the active mind or sympathetic nervous system. This allows the mind to access various states of meditation, peace, healing and lessens anxiety and stress.

Kirtan and Sound Healing NW3

SOUND HEALING

Join Catarina and Alex for a relaxing and restorative sound journey. 

To counter balance feelings of overwhelm, stress, and frustration, this pair of musicians will take you on a 5D journey, playing sacred instruments around and on your body, as well as using natural essential oils to activate your olfactory senses. 

 

Instruments will include Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, ocean drum, rainstick, conch shell, Native American flute amongst others.

 

This is a chance to escape and have a rest without having to leave the country.

Birth Circle Preparation with Deborah Rose at Vitruvian Wellness, NW3 2BE

This pampering birth circle is the IRL version of the content in Ayurveda Doula's "Birth with Ayurveda" course. Embodiment and breathing help your dream birth come to life. Birth Nidra will help you connect to your baby and your innate power to birth. In the Doula Sharing Circle, you will have the chance to ask your guide (Ayurvedic Vaidya & full-spectrum Doula, Deborah Rose) any of your burning questions.

 

Why including Ayurveda as you prepare for Birth

Preparing for birth with Ayurveda means a playful, holistic self-care practice that includes herbal medicine, self-massage, meditation, and mindful habits to support your constantly changing body and baby's growth as your pregnancy progresses. Your body will be nourished, and the flow of Prana ("life force") in your womb, bowels and endocrine glands will be optimised well before your baby comes earthside.

 

Birth Nidra

Deborah Rose will guide you through a deep meditation that combines the best of hypnobirth with Yoga Nidra to help your mind prepare for birth. A repetitive Birth Nidra practice gives you ample exposure to Alpha & Theta Waves, which will help you move into your altered state and tap into your body's own freeflow of oxytocin and endorphins when it's time for labour.

Sound Healing and Kirtan with Catarina Carvalho at Vitruvian Wellness, NW3 2BE

On the Spring Equinox we celebrate balance between day and night, harmony between light and dark.

In this session we will be merging our voices together through Mantra chanting. ‘Man’ meaning mind and ‘tra’ translating to tool. we are using Sanskrit words as a tool to focus the mind and connect it back to the heart. The chanting will be followed by a short Soundbath which will include instruments that resemble nature sounds, such as the rain and the ocean.

This will be a gentle practice to digest the Winter season and allow it to sink in, but also an opportunity to cultivate positive intentions and plant seeds for any dreams or goals we might have. Through connecting inwards to our own breath and voice, we connect to the world around us; we connect to nature and harmonise with the changing seasons. Together we will emerge from hibernation and prepare ourselves to blossom and grow.

There will be 45 min of Kirtan with a 15 min Sound Bath.
